The Federation of Family History Societies (FFHS) has reported that English and Welsh probate calendars, as well as 300,000 soldiers’ wills are to go online.
The 300,000 soldiers’ wills in boxes, which have never been entered in the calendars, will become available online by the end of the year. They cover the Crimean War, the First World War and the Second World War. They apply to non-commissioned officers.
It is thought the wills and administrations will be put online in the following order: Soldiers Wills; Probate 2006-current; 1996-2005; 1940-1995; 1858-1900; 1901-1939.
