To celebrate Scottish Family History Month, Keith Gregson, a regular author on our sister title Family Tree, is kindly offering free copies of his online book on the links between the north east of England and Shetland, called From Shetland to Keel Square.

The book will be of interest to anyone with north east or Shetland ancestry or a general interest in maritime affairs - and particularly the merchant navy.

The ruined croft at 'The Taing of Houss' on Burra Isle, Shetland, the address from which Keith's great-grandfather was married in 1878

Keith's tune, written in honour of the above croft, recorded by top Shetland fiddler Jenny Keldie.

You can request your copy of the book by contacting Keith by e-mail or if encountering problems via his website.
