The collection contains Inward Passenger Lists to Albany, Australia between 1873-1924. Prior to the completion of Fremantle Harbour in 1898, Albany was a major port of call for ships arriving from overseas and the eastern colonies. During the gold rush many newcomers arrived in Albany before proceeding to make their way on foot to the goldfields, or by train to Perth.
