62,000 inward passenger records for Australia added to FamilySearch

Passenger lists for Albany, Australia (1873-1924) have been added to the FamilySearch database.

The new addition is a collection of Inward Passenger Lists (62,427 names) from Albany, Australia between 1873-1924. Original images held at the Western Australia State Archives.

The collection contains Inward Passenger Lists to Albany, Australia between 1873-1924. Prior to the completion of Fremantle Harbour in 1898, Albany was a major port of call for ships arriving from overseas and the eastern colonies. During the gold rush many newcomers arrived in Albany before proceeding to make their way on foot to the goldfields, or by train to Perth.
