🔍 How can I join in with the DNA Discoveries 2026 sessions?
Attend live online
The DNA Discoveries presentations will take place as live webinars on Zoom.
Enjoy the recordings
They will be recorded, and the recordings will be made available to customers until 3 May 2026.
Each of the online learning sessions will last approximately one hour thirty minutes, and comprise presentations, demonstrations, learn-along and/or interactive elements, to help you put your knowledge into practice there and then.
Practice your learning
Each of the speakers will be presenting two sessions and optional homework will be set for you to practice your learning between the two if you wish.
About the speakers
Karen Evans
Karen is a former primary school teacher who has been tracing her family history since 1983. DNA testing is her passion, and she is a familiar and trusted voice within the Family Tree community.
Karen presents the regular DNA News at every DNA Club, part of Family Tree Plus.
When she’s not immersed in DNA, she enjoys dressing and dancing in the Regency period.

John Cleary
John Cleary teaches at a university in Edinburgh. He is one of the authors of the book DNA – A Guide for Family Historians (Pen & Sword), reissued in a new edition in 2025. John has written and presented for Family Tree on numerous occasions, on the topic of Y-DNA and mtDNA.

Donna Rutherford
Donna Rutherford, a London-based Genetic Genealogist, blends New Zealand heritage with ancestral ties to England, Scotland, and Ireland.
Her fascination with genealogy began in her teens, and in 2015, she took her first DNA test. Since 2017, Donna has shared her expertise internationally, demystifying DNA for audiences. As a Facebook group administrator, she guides others through DNA mysteries, encouraging them to learn more about using DNA in their own genealogy research.
Donna specialises in solving tricky DNA cases such as unknown parentage, surprise results and foundlings.
