Members will be invited to visit the new library and archive from 13 December 2023.

The new Society of Genealogists library and archive, at 40 Wharf Road in north London, opens to members on 13 December, with access for members of the public from 3 January. The Society also announced that Patrick Barker is leaving after a year as interim CEO, with Rebecca Gregory and Nathalie Pithers stepping into interim CEO roles.

Patrick Barker said: 'I’ve thoroughly enjoyed my time at the Society of Genealogists. The Staff and Members alike have made me feel extremely welcome, and their passion for the past has been contagious! Whilst I am sad to be leaving, I am thrilled to be handing over the reins to two people so dedicated to the SoG’s mission to help people discover and explore their heritage.'
