Members of the public are invited to share their pictures and stories of the unique, significant and memorable places on the National Heritage List for England.

The National Heritage List is a register of all nationally protected historic buildings and sites across England; since 99 percent of people in the country live less than a mile from a listed place, there is plenty of choice. Find your nearest sites here.

There are more than 400,000 protected places across England to discover and the Missing Pieces Project is all about uncovering their hidden histories and revealing overlooked stories. Whether you have a connection to a place already or you’re discovering it for the first time, your views add new pieces to the picture.
