Lynne M Jackson, the first keynote speaker to be announced for RootsTech 2024
Lynne M. Jackson, author, and president and founder of the Dred Scott Heritage Foundation, is the first keynote speaker to be announced for RootsTech 2024

Lynne M Jackson is the great-great-granddaughter of Dred and Harriet Scott, an enslaved couple known for taking their case for freedom to the U.S. Supreme Court.

The theme for RootsTech 2024 is 'Remember', which ties in well with Lynne's original concept for the Dred Scott Heritage Foundation, which she created in order to 'promote the commemoration, education, and reconciliation of our histories... and ensure that we never forget the struggle for freedom, citizenship, and equality, with an eye towards helping to heal the wounds of the past'.

RootsTech 2024 takes place in Salt Lake City, Utah, USA from 29 February to 2 March 2024 and online. Further keynote speakers will be announced in the coming weeks and in the meantime, you can register for the conference at the RootsTech website.
