International human rights organisation Umun has released the first in a series of nine videos which tell the story of Klara, who as a young Jewish girl survived a Nazi 'mobile killing unit'.
Stories such as Klara's are becoming much harder to uncover, as many survivors are reaching extreme old age. Yahad - In Unum would like to share her story in a series of short videos in order to preserve her memory and the memories of those who were not so lucky.

Klara was born to a Jewish family in Schklov, Belarus. She and her mother were in line with other Jews of the town on a death march to the shooting site, yet Klara survived.
She was able to escape with her mother, hiding under hay in a barn until her mother was caught and killed by town police while foraging for food. Despite being alone and a child, Klara was able to stay alive on her own - her tale of survival against all the odds shows that in spite of the misery, the human will to live still, sometimes, prevails.
