Have you ever found yourself wandering the Capital's Streets, only to ponder over how the very same, neon-lit metropolis may have looked up to 100 years ago?

Fourteen different areas of London have been selected, and Google Street view footage of them obtained. Images from up to 100 years ago were then laid over the modern streets, to show contrasting views.

Despite the large number of changes to the city, it is also possible to see how many areas of London have remained relatively unchanged since the Victorian era. Among the areas featured are:

  • Clapham Common
  • Stockwell
  • Covent Garden
  • Hyde Park
  • Whitehall
