Surnames are invaluable building blocks upon which we construct our genealogies. Discover the ways in which DNA can be harnessed to shine greater light upon the surnames in your family tree with John Cleary’s DNA Club presentation.

Join us for John Cleary’s informative and practical talk and learn about the ways in which DNA and surname studies may be used in conjunction to learn more about surnames in your family, about surname changes and about surname mapping possibilities too. Discover also how surname-DNA projects combine collaborative group data to shed yet further light.

This talk will be suitable for those simply curious about the topic, and those wishing to gain practical advice and tips that they can use in the course of their own family history research too.

John Cleary’s presentation will focus on surnames with Irish connections, but the advice and tips will be suitable for DNA-surname research wherever your ancestors hail from.

The DNA Club session will start with Karen Evans DNA Club news slot, during which she will report on DNA updates over the past month, and then continue with John Cleary’s talk.
