The research package prize includes:
- An initial Zoom consultation with David Annal to discuss the research brief. (This will take place at a mutually convenient time to the winner and David before 31 January 2025)
- A research report, by David Annal, presenting his findings and conclusions. (The research report will be provided to the winner by 14 March 2025)
- An article in a future issue Family Tree, showcasing the research undertaken by David Annal (details can be anonymised at the winner’s discretion)
Widely known and highly respected for his wealth of genealogy knowledge and experience, David Annal has four decades of family history research experience.
He is a former Principal Family History Specialist at The National Archives, UK, in 2019 he was awarded a Fellowship of the Society of Genealogists and in 2022 he was elected a Fellow of the Royal Historical Society.
Based in England, he now runs his own research business, Lifelines Research. Each month in Family Tree David shares insights and advice to help family history enthusiasts grow their British Isles genealogy knowledge and skills. He specialisms include background knowledge and understanding of the genealogical record collections for England.
