New army records added to FindMyPast

Royal Engineers records 1900-1949 and Chelsea Pensioners discharge documents have been added to FindMyPast this week.

British Army Royal Engineers, 1900-45

FindMyPast's British Army Royal Engineers, 1900-45 collection has been complete with the addition of 130,000 more tracer card records, the majority of which cover World War II.

Tracer cards document a soldier's movements within and between regiments and as such, can be an invaluable resource for exploring your ancestor's military career.

Chelsea Pensioners discharge documents

Findmypast has further expanded its British Army military resource over 6,000 new Chelsea Pensioners’ discharge documents. The discharge papers are some of the oldest records available within the collection, allowing you to trace your military ancestor's life and career way back to the 18th century.

Including both transcripts and images, they record the servicemen’s birth place, the length of service, and why the soldier was discharged.
