The new Yorkshire additions span five centuries
FamilySearch has added 2,601,205 records to its Yorkshire, Bishop's Transcripts 1547-1957 database.

The collection was created from Church of England Bishop's transcripts (summaries of parish records) which were sent to the Diocesan Bishop throughout the year. The records are in the custody of the Borthwick Institute for Archives, University of York, and cover baptisms, marriages, and burials from parishes throughout Yorkshire.
