The Society for One-Place Studies is a worldwide, online group which combines family and local history. A one-place study considers people and families in their physical and social context in any location across the globe.
The society was founded in 2013 and welcomes members from around the world with an interest in one particular place, whether that be a town, village, hamlet or street.
The group holds an annual conference and AGM, and members also receive a regular e-newsletter with contributions from experts in the field, and can access the members-only section of the website, which has details of current one-place projects and studies and an online forum.
HOW TO JOIN
Membership is £10 per year, with an optional one-off £10 additional for a lifetime study registration.
