The Shropshire Family History Society (SFHS) was founded in 1979 to provide a meeting place in Shropshire for anyone interested in family history, especially the history of Shropshire.
Meetings are held monthly at the Old Chapel Community Centre in Cross Houses near Shrewsbury at 7.15pm on the third Tuesday of each month (except July and August). Each meeting features a talk by a specialist speaker and afterwards, everyone is free to socialise or to get advice about their family tree.
HOW TO JOIN
Membership is £10 per year, which covers up to two members per household and there is currently no additional fee for overseas members. The society’s quarterly journal is published in March, June, September and December and is sent to members free of charge.
