The Cumbria Family History Society was founded to help members carry out family history research in the modern county of Cumbria, which is the old counties of Cumberland and Westmorland as well as parts of Lancashire and Yorkshire.
Members meet monthly, with quarterly meetings also held in London. The group produces a quarterly newsletter and also has a publishing programme which covers various topics of Cumbrian interest including memorial inscriptions, burial indexes and parish register transcripts.
How to join
Annual membership is £10 UK/electronic; £11 Europe/ £13 overseas. Members can access a ‘members only’ section of the website which includes a forum.
