For more than thirty years, Bradford Family History Society has worked to further the interest of family history research for those with ancestors in this West Yorkshire city. The society was founded in 1982 and now has members as far afield as Australia, Canada and New Zealand.
The 1851 census registration district of ‘Bradford, West Riding’ is used as the society’s geographical area of interest and this region covers much more than the original township of Bradford, including the districts of Idle, Denholme, Thornton, Cleckheaton and Pudsey.
HOW TO JOIN
Membership (£10 UK/£15 family and overseas) is open to anyone with an interest in family history and members receive the quarterly magazine Bod-Kin, which contains articles on Bradford’s history, surname interests, news and profiles of bygone Bradford people and places.
