Beautifully illustrated book details Queen Victoria’s personal and political relationships

Published to coincide with the launch of Victoria, ITV’s flagship drama starring Jenna Coleman, this beautifully illustrated book details Queen Victoria’s personal and political relationships with the kings, queens, emperors, empresses of France, Germany, Russia and Austria and their families.

Victoria had a long and close connection to the royal houses of Germany and here the various strands of her ties are weaved together to present a fascinating picture of European royalty in the 19th century, before the dark spectre of war loomed over Europe.

Author John Van der Kiste, who lives in Devon, has written more than 40 books on royal and historical biography, as well as crime and fiction, and is a contributor to the Oxford Dictionary of National Biography. In his latest book he raises the lid on Europe’s past royals, throwing new light on their lives and relationships.
