AGRA at Family Tree Live
Discover the benefits of using a professional researcher for family history research – or becoming an AGRA-listed researcher yourself – at Family Tree Live.

Family Tree Live is the UK’s most exciting family history event, organised by the publishers of Family Tree magazine. The two-day show will be held at historic Alexandra Palace in London on 17 and 18 April 2020.

This annual family history celebration brings together individuals and organisations from the genealogy community in the UK and further afield, and Family Tree is delighted to announce that AGRA will be joining us at Family Tree Live again in 2020, offering its popular one-to-one sessions.

Meet the AGRA experts

Last year, more than ten percent of ticket holders took advantage of the free AGRA sessions, which offered showgoers the chance to chat to an expert genealogist and AGRA member about how to become a professional genealogist and how to become an AGRA member – part of a large community of pro genealogists in England and Wales who are trusted to carry out paid family history research on behalf of individuals.

AGRA promotes high professional standards for genealogy and historical research in England and Wales, meaning that anyone researching their family history who hires an AGRA member can rest assured that the genealogist is part of a world-renowned network of professionals. AGRA also acts as a ‘voice’ for the professional genealogy community, with members bound by a code of practice that ensures the highest standards within the profession.

Why work with a professional genealogist?

Anyone interested in tracing their family tree knows that the fun of family history is tracking down your ancestors through a wide variety of online and archive-based records. However, even the most experienced family historian can hit a brick wall and this is where AGRA comes in.

Between them, the members of AGRA cover a wide range of geological areas and specialist topics, allowing you to choose the researcher who best suits your needs.

To find out more about the work of AGRA and what it can offer you either as a professional researcher, or someone who wants to enlist the help of a genealogist, visit their website – and be sure to come along to Family Tree Live and take advantage of the free one-to-one sessions.
