An update from Ancestry on how users can access the library edition during the Covid-19 lockdown.

Family Tree editor Helen Tovey spoke to Ancestry about the current arrangements for remote access to the library edition of their database at this time, when libraries are closed due to the Covid-19 restrictions.

A spokesperson said: 'We have offered on-site access to the Ancestry product through libraries and archive partners across the UK for a number of years now. When the first lockdown was announced in 2020, we started working with our archive partners to find remote access solutions for selected record collections.

'During this time we have also allowed libraries to offer full remote access to our Ancestry Library Edition product. The arrangement is currently ongoing however we would encourage members to check with their local archive or library on what access is available to them.'
