Twenty years after the Dorset and the New World seminar was held in Lyme Regis in 1998, the West Dorset Group of the Somerset and Dorset Family History Society (SDFHS) is holding a migration day on 9 June 2018 to celebrate the anniversary.

Twenty years after the Dorset and the New World seminar was held in Lyme Regis in 1998, the West Dorset Group of the Somerset and Dorset Family History Society (SDFHS) is holding a migration day on 9 June 2018 to celebrate the anniversary.

The special Historic Migration from the West Country – A Study Revisited 20 Years On day is a chance for migration researchers to get together and exchange ideas. Guest speakers are Janet Few and Lucille Campey, local researchers’ presentations on various aspects of West Country migration from Dorset, Devon Cornwall and Somerset.
