Findmypast.co.uk has added almost 4 million Welsh parish registers to the subscription/pay-per-view site www.findmypast.co.uk.

Findmypast.co.uk has added almost 4 million Welsh parish registers to the subscription/pay-per-view site www.findmypast.co.uk.

This exciting addition for anyone with Welsh roots couldn't have come on a more apt date - St David's Day.

The records cover Cardiganshire, Carmarthenshire, Denbighshire, Flintshire and Glamorganshire and comprise:

  • Baptisms: 1,418,921 records covering 1538-1911
  • Marriages: 950,254 records covering 1539-1926
  • Banns: 340,002 records covering 1701-1926
  • Burials: 1,169,685 records covering 1539-2007

Following soon will be records for Anglesey, Brecknockshire, Caernarvonshire, Merionethshire, Monmouthshire, Montgomeryshire, Pembrokeshire and Radnorshire.

Findmypast.co.uk has partnered with the National Library of Wales and the Welsh County Archivists Group to put these records online.
