Yesterday we announced that we're counting down the days to Who Do You Think You Are? Live (7-9 April 2016) with a series of posts revealing seven of the best family history experts, who are each presenting lectures at the show. Yesterday's post was all about smashing brickwalls with Mary Evans, while today we're giving a nod to the show's location at Birmingham's NEC with true Brummie and Birmingham research specialist Mike Sharpe.

Mike Sharpe is a professional genealogist, writer and lecturer specialising in Birmingham and the Midlands, and runs the Writing the Past research service. He is a member of the Society of Genealogists and several family history societies. His latest book, Tracing Your Birmingham Ancestors, is published by Pen & Sword. Mike was born in Birmingham and has traced his roots there back to 1750.
