The British Association for Local History invites entries for its annual Local History Photographer of the Year competition.
This year's theme is "Up my street", where we would like to see street images in your area, with a context of local history. These could include a street view, a building, some street furniture or a little detail on a wall or the pavement.
You can enter up to three images and winning photographs will be featured in British Association for Local History (BALH) publications and on their website. There is a £150 prize for the winner in the adult and under-18 categories, with further runner-up prizes.

BALH advise that successful entries will include a short caption or narrative up to 200 words. They would love to see a few words about "why" the image subject means something to you, whether that is a local connection, family history or a place you are simply drawn to. However, as a minimum, the judges will be looking for details of the location and subject and for your your entry to be supporting the theme "Up My Street".
How to enter
The closing date is 11 September and the winners will be announced at the Local History Live online event on 16 September.
