Find out how to use wills to understand more about what life was like for your ancestors

Whether your ancestors owned large swathes of land in the north of England or came from a more humble background in the West Country, the chances are that somewhere along the line some of them will have left wills.

Wills are among the most important sources for family historians, containing invaluable information about family relationships. This talk will look at how to access wills and how you can use them to get a better understanding of what life was really like for your ancestors.

The workshop will be hosted on Zoom and begin at 6.30pm GMT on 10 January. It will last approximately 1 hour 30 mins (inclusive of questions time).

Speaker details

Dave Annal, is a popular lecturer and is well-known on the family history circuit. In 2019 he was awarded a Fellowship of the Society of Genealogists and in 2022 he was elected a Fellow of the Royal Historical Society. He regularly gives talks on a wide range of family history topics.
