‘An expert session by Mary Evans on the wealth of mapping and associated resources you can access to find out more about the places where your Scottish ancestors lived.
If you have Scottish ancestors, you can rejoice in the fact that the country has a wealth of map resources to help you find out more about the lives of your forebears, where they lived and worked, and what their neighbourhood was like.
Mary Evans will take us through a range of resources, showing how to access, top tips for using these for family history, and exactly what they can be used for. These include:
- NLS Maps
- Scotland's Places
- The Statistical Accounts

The workshop will be hosted on Zoom and chaired by Chris Paton. It begins at 6.30pm UK time on 21 February 2024. It will last approx 1 hour 30 mins (inclusive of questions time).

Mary Evans has been researching her family tree for more than 40 years. She has contributed to research on TV series 'Who Do You Think You Are?' and Julian Fellowes' Great Houses'. Mary is a regular contributor to Family Tree magazine and spoke at Family Tree Live
