Join us for the December Family Tree Study Club meeting, at which Phil Isherwood will be presenting a very useful case study in which he will showcase his research steps

When Phil discovered his wife had an aunt with the extraordinary name of “Gonda”, and that neither she nor her family had ever heard of her, he was surprised. When he tried researching her life, he was baffled. She simply seemed to disappear from the genealogical record after the 1930s. What had happened?

By branching out into diverse sources, Phil was able to paint a picture of an upper-class girl who was presented at court, yet at the same time was an adventurous young woman of character – an early aviatrix, a talented artist, a horsewoman, and who travelled the world, before dying tragically young in an outpost of empire.

This presentation will be useful for family historians who:
•    Want to investigate the lives of ancestors who lived in the census-poor early and mid-20th century
•    Have ancestors who were mobile during the age of Empire
•    Have discovered little from traditional genealogical sources.

When & where?
The meeting will take place on Zoom, on Monday 9th December, 6.30pm. (UK time)
