Free family history records on FindMyPast genealogy website

Find your ancestors with this guide to free to search and view family tree records on the FindMyPast family history website.

Many family historians are familiar with the FindMyPast genealogy website, which offers billions of records to people searching for their ancestors. FindMyPast is a subscription-based website, where users pay to view a range of records, including census, BMD and military records.

However, there are many thousands of records which can be searched and viewed free of charge, which FindMyPast make available to all visitors to their website.

Free family history records on FindMyPast

FindMyPast offers one billion free of charge records, covering England, Scotland and Wales. Among the records which can be accessed free of charge are:

Start your search and look for your ancestors in the 1881 England, Scotland and Wales census; more than 7 million Roman Catholic baptism records for Ireland; and De Ruvigny's Roll of Honour - biographies of over 26,000 WWI soldiers killed in action.
