204c93bf-3c2e-426c-82b1-2b1e2e08e424

An introduction to the 1921 Census of England and Wales and how to use and interpret its contents.

For many family historians, the 1921 Census of England & Wales represents a chance to see parents or grandparents on the national census for the first time – and to flesh out the narratives in more recent generations of the family tree. Join this session for a six-step action plan for delving into these marvellous records and all the stories they hold!

In this talk, we’ll explore the information gathered by the 1921 household returns and examine how these captured the changes to family life in the years following World War I and the Spanish Flu pandemic. We’ll confront research challenges such as ancestral holidays, private returns and water damage and find out how to make the most of these records in your family history research.
