Find out what is in the collection and how to order items, view them and use them. In June 2017, the Society of Genealogists received 57,000 microfilms from FamilySearch (the genealogical arm of the Church of Latter Day Saints or Mormons). These films were available at the London Family History Centre, which is currently within The National Archives at Kew. They are now available for viewing at the SOG. Else Churchill gives an overview of what is in the collection. There is a significant amount of material for Ireland, Scotland, Jamaica, and other Caribbean Islands. There are a lot of Jewish records. Nearly 3,000 items are copies of all the wills probated between 1858 and 1925 in the Principal Probate Registry and the Local District Registries of England and Wales. Else explains how to identify the films you want, order them, use supplementary finding aids and view them.
