Family Names

Family Names is a FREE service to help visitors find information on their ancestors which has been submitted by other users. Searching for information on your ancestors couldn't be easier.

Step 1: Just click 'Family Names' and enter the surname in the search box.

Step 2: Click the 'Search' button. To find out who submitted the information on a particular name, click 'This Family Name was submitted by...'. You will then be given an email address.

Step 3: Simply click the email address; your email program will open automatically to allow you to send an email to the submitter. (Note: if your email software does not open automatically e.g if you use web based email, then just cut and paste the email address in to your email client). For advanced searching, use the pull down menus just above the search box.

Adding a new entry is just as easy.
Step 1: Just click 'New Entries' and then 'Add New'.

Step 2: Enter the information required and simply click 'Save'. Note: the format for the 'Family Name (x)' fields is: SURNAME Area (using Chapman codes if possible) period. See existing entries. Use the 'Quick jump' menu to alternate between the 'New Entries' section and the 'Family Names (Search) section.
