The Hawkshead Registers, 1568-1837
In the October issue of Family Tree Magazine, Martin Leonard told us about his transcriptions of the Hawkshead Registers, 1568-1837. Here we give you access to the full database, as described in the magazine.

Copyright Terms and Conditions – the practical implications
The copyright on all the files containing material from the registers is held either by the Hawkshead Parochial Church Council (PCC) or by the PCC and J M Leonard jointly. The conditions set by the PCC are that the transcriptions may be made available to others without restriction, but for non-commercial purposes only. So you are free to copy any of these files and to give copies to anyone else – but you must not sell them or make a charge for their use in any way. The same restrictions apply to those to whom copies are given.
The copyright on the two files not containing register material which appear on the disk (the main one being the introduction) is held by J M Leonard. This allows J M Leonard to make a small charge for providing copies to others directly. Copies of the Hawkshead Registers disk are available for £5 to cover costs from Martin Leonard (contact details as before). If any profit is made by J M Leonard, the balance will be sent to the PCC for the needs of the parish church. If any users of the FTM version would like to make a small donation, this may be done by cheque, payable to Hawkshead PCC and sent to the Treasurer, c/o The Vicarage, Vicarage Lane, Hawkshead, Ambleside, Cumbria LA22 0PD.
Enquiries about proposed uses of the material which might involve copyright issues should be sent to Martin Leonard, and will be referred to the PCC as necessary.
